Abstract
Purpose: Due to the development of recent Information Technology and medical industry, a health care service using Ubiquitous Health Care system in the clinical test is currently receiving attention. This study has been done to see its efficiency of the nursing record of health information (blood pressure & blood sugar) measured in application of the Ubiquitous Health Care system(U-Health Care system) based on Health Information Exchange Standards which has been developed at the Medical Informatics Platform for Telehealth (MIPTH) Center of Kyungpook National University in clinical environment, in comparison with an existing recording method. Method: The data have measured both the time spent for recording 87 health information (blood pressure & blood sugar) studied from 10 patients in hospital by two nurses in charge of the department of endocrine university hospital in "D" city from February 6th till 9th, 2012, and the time of nursing taking advantage of U-Health Care system, and analyzed its maximum, minimum, and mean value using SPSS/WIN 14.0 Program. Results: The resulting research showed that it took 42 minutes in maximum, 3 minutes in minimum, thus 18.2 minutes in mean by the existing nursing recording method. It also showed it took 6 seconds in maximum, 3 seconds in minimum, thus 4.2 seconds (0.07 minutes) in mean by the U-Health Care system, resulting in difference by 18 minutes in mean. It reduced significantly the nursing recording time in the U- Health Care system than in the existing method.
Conclusion: In accordance with it, the nursing recording method by the U-Health Care system in a clinical environment an give the remaining time up to other nursing works such as direct nursing in return, and also lets us expect its efficiency in rapid exchange of informations concerning clients with other medical teams.
